Jim transferred back to the Rockland Police Department in July 2001, appointed as a full time patrol officer. Jim is currently assigned to the 8 am to 4 pm day shift.

He is a 1990 Graduate Rockland High. Jim attended the Criminal Justice Training Council Recruit Academy in Plymouth, Grad. July 1998. He went on to achieve his Associates degree at Massasoit C.C.

Jim is E911 Certified, Patrol Rifle Qualified, and COWEB Mountain bike trained. He is a past firearms instructor for Hull Police Dept. Jim was also a citizen Police Academy Instructor for Hull PD.

Jim is a proud member of the Rockland Police Special Response Team.

While still a part time officer with the Rockland police Department, I was fortunate enough to be able to join the Rockland Police Honor Guard in 3/96. After I went to the Hull Police Department in 4/97, I help start an Honor Guard in the department. I served with them until I came back to Rockland in 7/01. It is with great pleasure that I am back on the Rockland Honor Guard.

Jim was a very good friend of Metropolitan Officer Robert P. Dana. Bob was killed in line of duty March 25, 1984. Jim says, "He along with his family are good friends of my family. I will never forget the phone call at 0800 telling my Dad he was killed. This horrible event in our life helped mold me into the person I am today. It made me understand "Honor and Respect". "

I personally know three Officers whose names are on the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial wall in Washington D.C. I Visited on my own in 1992, since then two more Officers have been placed on the wall. I Began Washington D.C. trips in 5/96 to pay respects. I was honored to "stand watch" with my father at the memorial 5/96.

Jim is one of two Father - Son teams that serve proudly on the Rockland Police Honor Guard. We are proud to have Jim and his dad Jay serving with us..

"I enjoy working as a patrol officer, being the first on scene, with an opportunity to protect and save another........ In the past six years of my full time police officer experience, I've lost friends that are now on the "wall" I will continue to show the respect they deserve, by honoring them, and performing the best job I can, as a Rockland Police Officer. "

On Jim's off-duty time he enjoys the outdoors. He hunts, fishes and mountain bikes. He spends a lot of time with his German Short hair Pointer " Otis". "Otis keeps me in shape. When not outside, I'm inside lifting weights or just watching the t.v."
